Manages the day-to-day financial accounting, financial reporting, and processing of lease and loan transactions. Provides consistent technical and operational financial expertise in support of the Canadian Dealer Services group including operating expense budget preparation, financial modeling, portfolio analysis, financial reporting, and accounting, analysis and reporting for sales tax, manufacturer incentives, and protection products & re-insurance.

About the role

• Ensure all reconciliations are completed and reviewed within the Corporate deadlines
• Support staff in investigating/resolving reconciliation issues where necessary
• Ensure Reconciliation Tracker has been updated by all Canadian preparers and reviewers
• Ensure all month end journal entries are prepared, reviewed and posted within the Corporate timelines
• Preparation of journal entries involving complex transactions or transactions not fully supported by the lease and loan management system (AutoSuite)
• Review and analyze the Canadian Dealer Services balance sheet and income statement for accuracy and completeness
• Ensure manufacturer incentive reporting and invoicing is completed as required on a weekly and monthly basis, including, but not limited to lease and loan rate incentives, loyalty purchase incentives and other special pricing programs as required
• Support accounting and administration of Corporate-sponsored insurance products such as lease wear and tear coverage and other service coverage products
• Liaise with OEM personnel in addressing various issues related to incentive charge backs, and coordination of invoice settlement
• Ensure Canadian Dealer Services is providing the support required by the Corporate Tax groups (both sales tax and income tax)
• Where necessary, support or manage sales tax and income tax audits
• Support various Canadian operations units, as required, to ensure new programs, projects and other initiatives are reviewed and validated from a finance and accounting perspective (including, but not limited to, lease and loan dealer portal updates, AutoSuite enhancements, and lease & loan documentation updates)
• Perform/review testing of system changes as required.
• Ensure Performance Leaders are successfully managing their areas
• Complete performance evaluations
• Guide, train and develop team members
• Ad hoc reporting as necessary/assigned
• Departmental support (both internal and external)

Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience required
• Professional accounting designation required
• At least 10 years experience in progressively more responsible accounting and finance roles
• Previous management experience in the accounting field required
