  • Overview

    The Remarketing Solutions Product Specialist is responsible for supporting and building upon existing GM Financial (GMF) Dealer Relationship Manager (DRM) dealer relationships through the communication and education of the Remarketing Solutions product offerings including end-of-term and auction promotions. This team member will be responsible for creating industry awareness through promotions and communications initiatives that support Remarketing Solutions strategic direction and reinforce the GM Financial brand identity.


    Additionally, the Remarketing Product Specialist will provide quality customer service by satisfying the business needs of both the GM Financial DRM’s and GM Dealers. This team member's overall responsibility is to develop internal and external relationships that promote auction inventories and increase buyer awareness.


    This position will service Western Canada.


    Job Duties

    DRM Support: (25%)

    • Build and support relationships with dealers and the DRM’s by providing the highest quality customer service in the industry.
    • Work with the Remarketing and DRM’s to determine target markets for training and building brand awareness to the dealer base.
    • Provide direct support to the DRM’s with on-site training as well as communicating the benefits of the Remarketing Solutions product portfolio and end-of-term processes.
    • Communicate field and dealer concerns with the leadership team as appropriate.


    Remarketing Solutions Support: (35%)

    • Coordinate with the Remarketing Solutions leadership team to promote auction inventory.
    • Develop and follow up on remarketing/sales opportunities.
    • Represent Remarketing Solutions at functions, if required

    Brand Growth and Awareness: (30%)

    • Communicate GM Financial’s remarketing value proposition, exclusive dealer benefits, and end-of-term lease processes to our dealer partners
    • Identify new lead opportunities to help drive sales.
    • . Communicate a monthly marketing/remarketing auction schedule.
    • Research and strategize creative ideas to reach current and potential dealer customers.
    • As needed, work with and assist the internal marketing teams with developing collateral for use in various marketing programs.
    • On an ongoing basis, recommend changes to marketing strategies based on feedback from dealers and the DRM’s.

    Miscellaneous (10%)

    • Other duties as assigned.

    Reports to: VP – Remarketing Solutions

    • High school diploma required
    • College degree preferred


    • 1-2 years previous auto remarketing experience
    • 1-2 years previous automotive sales experience preferred
    • Some Marketing experience preferred, but not required
    • Post-Secondary education required



    • Complete understanding of GM Financial’s policies and procedures.
    • Thorough understanding of Remarketing Solutions, End of Lease and W&T products, programs, initiatives and alliances.
    • Must have an understanding of dealership operations and the auto remarketing processes.
    • Bilingual – English/French preferred.
    • Strong interpersonal and people skills.
    • Must possess the ability to make consistent quality decisions.
    • Must possess team building and relationship management skills.
    • Advanced communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to make effective presentations and develop client relationships.
    • Strong problem solving skills as well as the ability to think outside the box.
    • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently.
    • Able to meet deadlines and establish objectives.
    • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing
    • Exceptional presentation skills.
    • Must have strong marketing and sales skills.
    • Good organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously to ensure timely and accurate completion.
    • Ability to proactively develop opportunities to promote products, services, and events to dealers and auction partners.
    • Self-starter with the ability to take ownership of work performed.
    • Ability to successfully implement promotional plans.
    • Must have intermediate knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Saleforce.
