The Remarketing Solutions Specialist Bilingual French – CDN Dealer Services is responsible for professionally representing the sale of GMCL, Off Lease, Repossessed and any other units assigned, at auctions nationwide and strives to achieve the highest recovery on the liquidation of assets in order to minimize losses, while ensuring company policies and procedures, as well as Provincial and federal laws, are followed. Additionally, this team member will review, monitor, and assist in directing departmental activity.


This role will support the Atlantic Provinces.



Representing at Auction (30%)

  • Monitor the flow of vehicles to auction and represent vehicles during sale at auction
  • Meeting the corporate defined sales objective monthly on previously charged-off and repossessed vehicles
  • Verify vehicle announcements and reports are accurate for pre-sale
  • Ensure adequate process control over Asset Remarketing to maximize Black Book recovery
  • Monitor and identify market trends


Inventory Management (30%)

  • Inspect inventory, making recommendations on reconditioning, setting vehicle floor prices, reviewing condition reports, and auditing auction expenses
  • Work with auction coordinators to approve work orders for the Mechanical Services Shop, Body Shop and Detail Shop
  • Verify that repairs are completed and charges submitted
  • Ensure the inventory is in the proper designated areas of the lot at all times
  • Make recommendations of vehicles to be sold online after a no-sale
  • Assist management in reducing operating expenses as it pertains to the transportation and sale of repossessed vehicles
  • Maximize the recovery of all repossessed vehicles to decrease net credit loss as a percentage of account balance
  • Dispose of repossessed vehicles in an expedient manner to reduce average days in inventory
  • Perform Inventory audits as assigned  


Program Execution and Development (10%)

  • Responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring new GM Financial programs and revising existing programs to enhance auto recoveries at the auction and to ensure the integrity of programs


Relationship Building (15%)

  • Build and maintain professional relationships with OEM, outside vendors, Auctions, Dealers, Rental companies using clear and concise communication
  • Work with inside staff members to keep account and auction activities up-to-date
  • Address customer service issues in the field by managing customer expectations


Miscellaneous (15%)

  • Ensure compliance with all provincial and federal regulations and Company directives
  • Ensure effective communication, both verbal and written, with the TL in all areas of the department
  • Perform special projects as assigned/required
  • Other duties as assigned 



Reports to: Team Leader Asset Remarketing

Direct Reports: None





  • Working knowledge of provincial and federal laws/guidelines with an emphasis on laws relating to repossession and remarketing of vehicles
  • Working knowledge of the Automobile Industry required
  • Knowledge of the Auction Industry preferred



  • Good English and French verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail oriented with strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Team player with the ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to work independently, be self-motivated, and utilize time wisely
  • Ability to use independent judgment and exercise discretion when accepting/rejecting bids
  • Basic mathematical skills to estimate the dollar value of the vehicles during the auction
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Ability to professionally represent GM Financial and maintain working relationships with vendors/auction personnel
  • Good interpersonal skills, with an ability to maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, subordinates, vendor personnel, and management
  • Advanced computer knowledge with the ability to utilize the Internet while valuing vehicles and scheduling vehicles for sale




  • 3+ years previous experience in the Automobile/Auction Industry is preferred. 
  • 3+ years previous experience in a Travel Representative role responsible for the representation of inventory preferred. 
  • Prior background in an Automotive Finance Environment preferred
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred
  • Minimum three years of experience as a Remarketing Representative or in a compatible field and full knowledge of wholesale vehicle values and reconditioning needs knowledge/skills



  • High school diploma required. College degree preferred.
